We’re excited to release a new “Add Product Support” feature to our OESIS Framework developer tool. Quick support for new third party security applications is crucial for security solutions such as NAC and SSL VPN that utilize OESIS for endpoint compliance checking. Without the ability to detect the latest versions of antivirus software or the particular encryption product the user has installed, unexpected denials of network access can occur.
OPSWAT works closely with our customers to add support for new products, and with our new “Add Product Support” tool, we are further increasing the speed with which new product support can be added to OESIS. Through the “Add Product Support” feature in the OESIS developer tool, customers and users can quickly and easily submit information about applications that need to be detected. This direct submission will allow OPSWAT to gather the necessary data to quickly add new product support. The tool is available for download at www.opswat.com/products/oesis-v4/network-admin.
When technology vendors using OESIS Framework (including Juniper, Cisco, F5 Networks, Palo Alto Networks, DELL SonicWALL and others) receive a support request for a new third party application, they submit that request to OPSWAT support. Previously, OPSWAT would work with the customer (who would work with the end customer) as well as with the third party application vendor to gather the information needed to provide this support. With the new “Add Product Support” feature embedded in the Network Admin/Developer Tool, the information needed is quickly gathered and provided to OPSWAT, cutting the time for this step down significantly.
The feature is a simple and intuitive step-by-step process to gather information about the application and send it to OPSWAT for further processing and validation. Both end users and customers can easily use this tool to notify OPSWAT about required support and to provide the information needed, cutting out the need for back and forth communication. OPSWAT then uses the provided information to add the application support immediately, often without a need to work with third party application vendors. Third party application vendors can also take advantage of the tool to speed up the OPSWAT Certification process, verifying that their applications are detected by OESIS and therefore compatible with leading technology solutions.
